A number of benefits are available from participating in a program designed for wellness and healing. You can find support, knowledge, problem-solving skills, and enhanced coping strategies for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, grief, stress management, body image issues and creative blocks.
My work is focused on helping each individual client discover how they can best live a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life.  I hold the belief that through support and care, along with the implementation of well-researched techniques designed for wellness and healing, every client can discover potential solutions to their life challenges, and embrace their unique beauty and gifts.   It is my hope to provide the help and support you need for personal growth and a healthy and fulfilling life.  I wish to provide a fresh perspective on difficult problems, point you in the direction of a solution, or make you aware of tools and approaches to overcome particular unhealthy behaviors.

What is a Hypnosis Session Like?

Every client is unique and my practice is designed to work with each individual and their specific needs. During individual sessions we typically discuss the primary issues and concerns in your life, and the changes you want to make.  Depending on your unique needs, desires, beliefs, and personality, I utilize a variety of techniques and methodologies to help and support your goals.  I integrate my education in traditional Mental Health Counseling with my training in complementary modes of healing to support each client in the way that works best for their personal growth.

Do You Always Utilize Hypnosis During in Wellness Support?

Most clients request hypnosis as part of their treatment plan however this method of healing it is not always necessary.  Treatment plans are personalized for each client and together we design a program centered on the unique goals and needs of the individual.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?
While some clients report extraordinary changes in only a session or two, it is common to schedule a series of weekly sessions.  Therapy can be short-term, focusing on a specific issue or behavior, or longer-term, addressing more complex issues or ongoing personal growth. My goal is to create the most significant changes as soon as possible.  And always, each client determines how much or how little support they require to accomplish their personal goals.
While some forms of psychoanalytic therapy can go on for years and years, costing the client an enormous amount of money, I work diligently to help each client achieve their goals as fast as possible.  While this means I receive less payment from each client, I feel certain the satisfaction each client receives as they make huge changes in a relatively short time, means I will always have clients.

What Can I Expect During My First Session?
Clients typically report that within minutes of their first session, they feel comfortable, and any apprehension or anxiety quickly dissipates.  During the first session we get to know each other and review the paperwork.  We then we spend some time getting clear on what it is you want and need during our time together and how I can best support you.  We set goals, make a plan, and begin our work together.  I typically do a hypnosis or visualization session during the first visit if the client is ready.

What About Homework?
I'm a strong believer in "therapeutic homework" and you will be asked to take certain actions outside of the therapy sessions, such as focusing on your goals, reading relevant material, keeping records to track certain behaviors, or practicing what you have experienced in a session.  It is important to integrate the experience of a session into your life - this is an important part of the process and will magnify and expedite the healing process.  For therapy to be most effective you must be an active participant, both during and between the sessions; hypnosis is not going to be nearly as effective if a client goes home and discounts everything they have experienced.  It is crucial the client works toward health and wellness even outside of the session.  I have found most people seeking healing and wellness are more than willing to do the work necessary for their health and healing.
Here are some things you can expect as we meet:
  • Compassion, respect and understanding
  • A gentle and clean healing environment
  • A safe and confidential time together
  • Perspectives to illuminate persistent patterns and negative feelings
  • Real strategies for enacting positive change
  • Effective and proven techniques along with practical guidance
  • Numerous methods for change and healing

Is This the Right Practice For Me?

It may take some time and patience to find the right therapist for you.  For a truly beneficial therapeutic relationship and for ultimate growth,  it is important you find a competent, knowledgeable practitioner who you trust, who will listen and understand your particular situation and needs, and one whose methods and philosophy blend with your world view.

There are many reasons why people seek help.  Sometimes it is to deal with long-standing psychological issues, or problems with anxiety or depression.  Other times it is in response to changes in one's life such as a divorce, career challenges, or life transition.  Many seek help to overcome a bad habit or lose weight and others wish for support and encouragment as they pursue their own personal exploration and growth.  When a good therapeutic relationship is developed, a client often discovers support, and new strategies for all types of life challenges. Emotional and behavioral support can help address many types of issues including depression, anxiety, conflict, grief, stress management, body-image issues, and general life transitions. For those interested in getting the most out of their lives by taking responsibility, creating greater self-awareness, and working toward change in their lives, support is often enormously valuable.
 Do I Really Need Help?
Everyone goes through challenging situations in life, and while you may have successfully navigated through other difficulties you've faced, there's nothing wrong with seeking out extra support when you need it.  In fact, I find many people who seek help are those who have enough self-awareness to realize they need a helping hand, and that is something to be admired. You are taking responsibility by accepting where you're at in life and making a commitment to change the situation by seeking help and support. My practice is designed to give you the tools you need to change behaviors, eliminate unhealthy patterns, and overcome whatever challenges you face.

What About Medication?

Do You Accept Insurance?
I do not accept insurance.

What About Confidentiality?

In general, the law protects the confidentiality of all communications between a client and clinician. No information is disclosed without prior written permission from the client.
However, there are some exceptions.  As a mandated reporter I am required by law to report to authorities the following:
  • Suspected child abuse or dependant adult or elder abuse. .
  • If a client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person.
  • If a client intends to harm himself or herself.
Working with your primary health care practitioner you can determine what's best for you. It is well-established that the long-term solution to mental and emotional problems and the pain they cause cannot be solved solely by medication. Instead of just treating the symptom, or spending years delving into the problem, my practice addresses the behavior patterns that curb one’s progress while focusing on practical, concrete, and highly effective changes to create healing and wellness. I have found one can best achieve sustainable growth and a greater sense of well-being with an integrative approach to wellness.
